Elder Tyler Benton Moore

Thursday, April 15 at about 4:30 pm Jami brought in the mail.  Not even expecting it for another week but there is was, the big white envelope addressed to Elder Tyler Benton Moore.  "Oh my gosh, it came.  Tyler's call came already."  I called Tyler and said, "guess what you got in the mail today."  "Nu uh!  Really, it came?"  He wasn't going to be home for another couple of hours so I got on the phone and started calling everyone.  Mom came from Whitter. Todd, Lori & Madisen came from Irvine. Jarom, Holly, Eric & Rosa and the kids came from Huntington Beach.  Mindy & Ryan were skyped in from Highland, Utah.  Ashley and David were skyped in from Laie, Hawaii.  A number of Riversiders were here too and on speaker phone we had Debbie, Derek, Matt, Ashley J, Grandma Geniel.... don't know if there was anyone else.  By about 8:30 we finally got that envelope opened.  Tyler was shaking so much that he could hardly read the letter.

Dear Elder Moore:  You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints.  You are assigned to labor in the New Mexico Farmington Mission.  It is anticipated that you will serve for a period of 24 months.
You should report to the Provo Missionary Training Center on Wednesday, May 26, 2010.  You will prepare to preach the gospel in the Spanish Language.  Your assignment may be modified according to the needs of the mission president.

Thomas Monson

After the call was opened Tyler received the Melkizedek Priesthood.  We are so proud of him.  He will be an awesome missionary.
